Saturday, March 30 from 11:00 to 15:00 the NVM Open House Day! The moment when potential buyers have the opportunity to view your property without obligation. A good reason to have a good look at your home presentation! We give you 10 tips to get more out of the Open House Day.
The entrance to your home is the first thing viewers see. Does it look neat and tidy? Does the doorbell work? Clean up unopened mail and make sure that viewers have enough room to hang their coat on the coat rack.
Make sure that personal items such as important papers, mail, car keys, photos and the like are cleared away. These items can distract viewers and you also protect your privacy by storing these things. Do you have a cupboard as an eye-catcher in your home and are there many pictures of your family? Then remove the pictures.
Try to make it as easy as possible for visitors to visit your home. Do not park your own cars in the driveway or parking space in front of the house. Perhaps you can also ask the neighbors to park their car somewhere else. In this way there is sufficient parking space for viewers.
Do you have pets? Some viewers do not like the presence of pets, it can also distract them. Take them away just before the Open House or if it really can’t be otherwise, put them in a separate room. If necessary, make sure that the house is well ventilated in advance and put away pets’ items.
Tidy up the house extra and look critically at what you can possibly store. Think about the personal items in the bathroom for example. Store shampoos, toothbrushes, toilet freshener in the cupboard.
Make sure the house is shiny and fresh. Nothing is as repellent as, for example, a dirty kitchen. In addition, you can also ensure that your house smells nice by placing some scent sticks.
During the Open House Day, many viewers will already have spring feelings. So the outdoor space around the house is important. Make sure the garden is tidy, remove leaves and plants that have not survived the winter. Dress it up nicely and buy some new plants that are in bloom.
Making a visitor list may be desirable: Ask viewers if they are open to leave contact details, so that you can contact us after the Open House Day.
When you as a seller are present in your home during the viewings. Then emphasize that viewers can walk around freely and have sufficient time and space to get a good impression of the home. Try to stay in the background yourself.
Use your own network in addition to the ERA vb&t Makelaars network. How easy is it to place a link to your home on social media such as Facebook to show your environment that your home is for sale.
